MY BUSINESS IDEAS - NEED INVESTORS/PARTNERS/BUYERS!!

Business Ideas 2009

Please let me know if you are interested in investing $ and/or sweat equity.

Unfortunately, I’m “the idea girl”, not the “nuts and bolts business girl.” I would love assistance with the areas where I’m weak: Business Plans and Cash. I have received a LOT of advice that many, many ideas become profitable business with the involvement of friends/family/partners, so the least I can do is keep you updated with options.

1.) VEHICLES: Add 2-4 “easy buttons” on the steering wheel of every car, to PRE-SET CRUISE CONTROL AND ELIMINATE SPEEDING TICKETS and the dangerous distracting setting and re-setting of standard cruise control:

1st Button: 15 MPH: Housing Areas.
2nd Button: 35 MPH: Traffic lights.
3rd Button: 65 MPH: Freeways.

2.) RESTAURANTS: “under-the-table” napkin dispensers at every restaurant table. They never seem to provide more than 1 napkin per person and that napkin is to be placed in your lap….. who wants to wipe their mouth or hands with that 1 napkin and then put it back on their lap/clothing! YUCK! Irritating! Poor Service!

3.) GOVERNMENT: Unemployment Insurance USER FRIENDLY website to provide a User Name and Password to access ALL info in individual’s file [rather than going through a ridiculous maze of redial for over 30 min. to speak with someone directly]. If banks and credit cards can do it, so can the government. It’s secure and cheaper than hiring thousands of new employees to answer the phones of angry people.

GROCERY STORE IDEAS

4.) Containers for HOMEMADE Ranch dressing at every grocery store.

5.) Rice Steamers sold at every grocery store, in the Asian Foods aisle.

6.) Pre-sorted “Best Fruit” set aside and charge a premium for the service at grocery stores that are not Whole Foods [Ralphs, Vons, etc.].

7.) Meal Ideas set up at grocery stores with all the ingredients available for sale at one location. For example: A Japanese Station would be set up near the seafood section, with either self explanatory directions or an instructor available.

8.) Sashimi selection sold at Whole Foods and Gelson’s.

9.) Whole Food’s and Gelson’s to provide GROUP OUTINGS to obtain groceries off the land and sea: fishing trips, farm trips for produce, veggies, and/or poultry, beef, etc.

A SOCIAL LIFE

10.) http://www.asociallife.com/ for adults, teens, kids, etc. who would like to be a part of a group of people like them, with organized events, like a frat. or sorority. Could be expensive, but an easy way for someone to organize a group of friends for you. Could be inexpensive, depending on level of involvement. This is partially why AA is so popular, it’s an instant group of friends and free! Frats and Sororities have been popular $$$ money makers for decades and decades, it’s time to bring these concepts to the rest of the world. People are too busy to make friends, but they crave it in their lives. This is an expansion of the dating websites, like http://www.eharmony.com/, but it would match people up for GROUP FRIENDSHIP and/or Business NETWORKING.

For example, say you are a housewife or a busy engineer or your friends have moved away over the years or you’ve moved away from your friends…….. this would be a perfect club for you! It’s perfect for EVERYONE. You would enter your info on the website [similar to the dating sites] and then you would be matched with a group/s of similar interests/values. Each group would have a calendar of events with a free – low – high cost for each. For example, the housewife in zip 92028 would join the “Housewives So. Cal” group and pick and choose from the free group get-together of a walk/yoga/tea on the beach with a semi-organized pairing [like speed-dating where members get to know other members 1-1 or in small groups]. The group could have a lot of input on the activities. There could be a “Wish List” where members could post ideas. In contrast, the busy engineer in zip 92028 could join “Engineers So. Cal.” or “Christians So. Cal” or whatever group he/she is interested in.

I KNOW my business ideas are futuristic, long overdue, high in demand, etc. = high potential for profits.

1.) I bet you 95%+ of people is this world get very annoyed with attempting to place an order at a drive thru speaker window and searching for their server and placing the order, nervous about ordering exactly how you want it because you don’t want to be difficult? I’ve seen it and experienced it countless times.

SOLUTION: http://www.touchscreen.com/ : Affordable touch-screen menu to be sold and implemented at every drive thru and restaurant, with a variety of styles to cater to the style of the restaurant. People do not like yelling through intercoms at drive thru’s and they/we don’t like searching for their server at a restaurant to order another beverage or get some lemon wedges for their fresh fish or napkins and so on. This has disrupted probably every dining experience I have ever had and/or witnessed. Of course you would still have a server in restaurants, but they would just deliver the food. This is futuristic, yet long overdue. $$$

2.) Would you like an inexpensive way to give yourself a makeover by submitting a photograph [or other artifact] to a website and obtaining feedback from other members and/or the internet overall? One could get input on his/her appearance/mannerisms/voice/lifestyle/etc.

SOLUTION: http://www.makeover.com/ : I predict the most popular and hugely poplar transaction would be when someone emails their picture, any picture, and is told very bluntly within a few days an honest opinion of what could be improved, some things without surgery and/or $$ and some things that wouldn’t cost anything [hairstyle] or would be low cost [haircut]. Another development of the company would be to provide a videographer to tape or follow a client for a period of time for 5 min – 5 hours +. $$$

3.) Are you curious about the increasing attention in recent years regarding mental illness, specifically Bi-Polar Disorder? Our society has become more and more magnetized to “reality-shows/books” of all types. There is a void out there, perfect opportunity to make $$$ for a book/tv/film “reality show/film/book” of my experiences, my life story, as I grew up, then as a 22 year old girl, who was “normal”, popular, athletic, “intelligent”, “beautiful”, and then was struck with Bi-Polar Disorder. I think we could make some $$ on my story: past, present, and plans for the future. It would be educational, informative, interesting, inexpensive to produce, and extremely profitable. The easiest production would be a book, of course.

SOLUTION: http://www.ucsbbipolargirl.com/ I want to publish a book that is set up like a “journal w/ documents” about Bi-Polar Disorder from a U.C.S.B. student’s experiences before and after college. This is my autobiography and it’s 99% done. I would be ok with printing it right now, as is, at Kinkos, and selling it outside Barnes & Noble for double the cost and try to increase the price. There have been an increasing amount of publications on Mental Illness lately, especially Bi-Polar Disorder [Brittany Spears, etc.]. This is the perfect time to make a profit on my book. I have researched Publishers and Film Producers [A Beautiful Mind, etc.] and it’s very time-consuming to obtain contact info, etc. I need someone to “adopt” this project and maintain the business account. If all else fails, just give me all the money you can and I’ll do the rest myself. It’s nearly impossible for me to save any money to fund any of these “predicted profitable business’ on $14 hour. $$$

4.) Have you ever been in a rush, didn’t want to shop and prepare your meals/snacks, and pulled through a McDonalds, Carl’s Jr., Jack In The Box, Taco Bell, KFC, etc.,, although you strive and/or claim to care about your well-being and that of your family/friends who may be with you or you are delivering for loved ones?

SOLUTION: http://www.healthydrivethru.com/: Affordable “eco-friendly” drive-thru world-wide restaurant chain with 100% highest-quality, organic [if possible/reasonable], locally grown, healthy food and beverages. An inexpensive item on the touch-screen [no yelling back and forth to a machine speaker like all current drive thrus] menu would be a bowl of brown rice topped with whatever you’d like from the “inexpensive list of ingredients”: such as black beans, organic jack cheese, and locally made salsa. Served with a biodegradable/recyclable bottled water of preference [I prefer Aquafina] or on bottled water ice in a biodegradable/recyclable cup. A more expensive item would be a bowl or plate [biodegradable] of steamed fresh fish [I prefer salmon because it’s the healthiest and tasty too], brown rice, and steamed veggies of choice [mixed, broccoli, carrots, corn, etc.] or a salad of choice [no iceberg, locally grown, I prefer mixed greens w/ tomatoes and mozzarella w/ oil and vinaigrette] with the highest quality choices of salad dressings [always on the side and in a dip container, not tear packet]. This can be done appeal to everyone, is good for society, and is extremely profitable. I’m thinking worldwide, like McDonalds, but 100% better without losing taste or spending more. There will be options to spend a little or a lot. There would be items to indulge in also, but the highest quality ingredients and products. Whole Foods may be interested in this idea. $$$

5.) Do you or do you know anyone who is struggling with any skill: homework, a project, a 2nd language, exercise, musical instrument, etc.?

SOLUTION: http://www.oncalltutoring.com/ . Mobile Tutoring for ANY skill. However, if I was affordable, many people would appreciate a multi-variety of tutoring services. The company would simply serve as a middleman between people who want to make some extra money on the side with people who are willing to pay a variety of amounts to have group sessions come to their home or to go to group sessions at other homes or have one on one sessions at the location of their choice [their home, a park, a library, etc.]. I have worked as a tutor off and on over the years. Wealthy clients are willing to pay over $20+ an hour. $$$

6.) Have you ever been having a nice conversation with someone or assisting the children with their food, and then when you go back to your entrée, it’s COLD, yuck! This is especially disappointing at restaurants because some people don’t feel comfortable having a server microwave their entrée.

SOLUTION: http://www.hotplates.com/: Affordable “Hot Chargers/Plates” of various sizes, colors, and designs that are battery-operated to a hot enough temperature to be placed under everyone’s plate [it would be larger than the “hot food” plate, with the exposed rim unaffected by the heat. The plate could be divided into 4 sections with the option of deselecting a section for cool items on the plate. Smaller “hot chargers” would be used under hot beverages [coffee, tea, alcoholic beverages: hot toddy’s, keoke coffee, etc.]. $$$

7.) Do you and people you know feel comfortable with the amount of pollution/trash/waste you recycle?

SOLUTION: http://www.ecofriendlytrashcans.com/: Affordable “eco-friendly” vertically quartered trash cans/dumpsters for every home, office, and dumpster. Part 1 would be for be for plastic [especially soda bottles], part 2 for paper [especially newspapers], part 3 for compost [covered so odor-free], and part 4 for “other” [such as disposable diapers, unfortunately]. The owner could divide it however he/she wants. I don’t recycle much at all and I feel very guilty and frustrated by it. My employer just added a recycle container for beverages and another one for paper. Wonderful! Great for business too! People appreciate eco-friendly businesses. Do you feel like it’s very difficult and not at all user friendly to obtain the containers to recycle for your home/office and then transfer it to your large trash bins outside and/or transport it to some recycling center at a grocery store parking lot and find out they don’t take newspapers and you often have to wait in line for an hour to place your beverage recyclables one at a time in a machine that rejects many of them for various reasons and then finally you leave with a receipt to cash inside the grocery store for a few bucks? Why does our society go on an on about the importance of recycling and then no one produces a container or system to make it reasonably laborious? $$$

8.) Are you a parent who has trashed numerous diapers? Do/Did you realize they are the #1 contributor to land fills?

SOLUTION: http://www.ecofriendlydiapers.com/: Affordable “eco-friendly” bio-degradable disposable diapers. Most eco-friendly parents aren’t going to stop using them, so let’s make them bio-degradable or recyclable. Very few people, even “eco-friendly” people will ever use cloth diapers. $$$

  2. Regarding your book, you can publish it on amazon.com, I believe for free, and you will get profits based on the selling price (I think amazon.com takes 50%). You could try there and see who bites?
